President’s Report (Jack Keightley)
Our final kid's shoot for the summer was Saturday August 20, 2011 with registration of the first group beginning at 9:00am.
The Cabelas work day for their Archery classic generated lots of buzz about our organization and was an overall success. Cabelas gave us the 3D Targets we used during our demonstration/ training session and asked if we would consider doing another work session in October, but we will have to decline due to peak bow hunting time.
Jack brought attention to the increased attendance at the recent Wednesday night fun shoots. Could be because archery season is just around the corner or maybe because the Heat Wave has ended. Keep it up and let's have a strong finish the next few weeks.
Our annual John Woods Memorial shoot in Maestown, IL is scheduled for August 28, 2011. Usually starts at 7:00am. Cost is usually $10-12 dollars per shooter. Hope to see everyone there.
It's time for SCA Club Officer Nominations again. Please be mindful of your selections and the position you would like to help with. Now's the time to show your support for our organization.
Lastly, Jack wants to pull all 3D targets in our bale building and take inventory or what targets need to be replaced. He wants to use the money from the St. Louis Archery Council disbandment to purchase new targets.
SCA Club Hunting trip September 29,30-October 1,2 at Mark Twain Lake Si Colburn Campground. Cost will be $25 dollar/ person with 32 paid members. Otherwise cost may increase slightly. See Lloyd Keightley for sign-up sheet and further details. Cutoff date for payment is September 14, 2011.
Vice-President’s Report (Joe Hajek)
Joe said he agrees with everything Jack mentioned. Please help set up & or take down targets. It's good to see new faces helping out. Thank you to those loyal helpers that constantly set up & break down the range. We couldn't do it without you.
Secretary Report (Jon Adams)
We continue to see web traffic and increased email activity. In fact one of those people I emailed this week is at our meeting which is great to see. People are checking out our site and I have received several emails from members and new people seeing what we are all about. It's almost bow season again and remember to send us pics of this year's harvest. Happy Hunting!

Mystery shoot. If you have not heard the news you can pay an extra dollar at the Wednesday night fun shoot to participate. You will do your normal shoot, but one target each week will be designated as the mystery target. After shooting turn your scorecard into John Burrows (Range Captain) and at the end of 10 weeks whoever has the highest score for the mystery target will win a grand prize!

Marshall Sidwell and Becky Douglass (Sidwell) are offering to help organize and plan the silent auction, 50/50 raffle and gather donations to spearhead this along to increase turnout & prizes for 2012. For information please contact Becky Douglass at: (beckydouglass3@gmail.com) There was a small group of volunteers at our meeting who would like to help plan the upcoming Veteran's Shoot on April 14, 2012.
We need to take inventory of our 3D Targets and see which ones need to be replaced. Jim Keener is going to call Reinhart about their targets.
New Rule for SCA club hunting and fishing outings. One paid member may bring one non-member to help increase our attendance and help promote new membership in our organization.
Veteran' Shoot next year will be April 14, 2012. Start working on companies now to get donations and contributions. (stay tuned for more details)
Need to schedule a workday prior to our upcoming Deer Classic
John Burrows is considering putting together a Muzzleloader hunt at Mark Twain Si Colburn in December. If interested please see John.
It was also brought to our attention that as a club we need to do a much better job meeting and greeting new members & guests. Please make a conscious effort to introduce yourself to anyone you see that may be new or that you just haven't met yet. We really do have a great organization! Let's show it!
