Meeting Minutes for August 2011 Meeting Read by an officer and Accepted by members present.

Officer Reports

President’s Report (Jack Keightley)

Jack purchased some new kids bows so we will have more at the pavilion for our increased activity. He also purchased 6 new Rinehart targets with the check we received from the disbandment of the St. Louis Archery Council. Jack asked Richard Kurtzeborn to call the parks dept. and ask them about the bridge repair needed on the back of the archery range.

A Thank You letter was received from the St. Louis Fisher House regarding our recent donation from the Veteran's Shoot proceeds.

Our Deer Classic shoot was another success with 82 total shooters 67 of which were paid shooters. Thanks to Bob Urbanek for getting the trophies for us. Lastly, for the upcoming tournaments there will be no men's Bow Hunter class-just Men's Open.

Also, we have Officer nominations again with voting at October's meeting.

Vice-President’s Report (Joe Hajek)

Joe said everyone that he spoke to the night of the Deer classic thoroughly enjoyed the event. Thanks to all of those volunteers who helped make this another great success!

Secretary Report (Jon Adams)

Bow season is now among us so please send some of your harvest pics to us. send them to info@southcountyarchers.com.

Treasurer’s Report (Steve Sykora)

Several checks were written to the Oakville Elks, County Parks, Muellers Plaques, Walter Knoll Florist & a few others. We continue to be a sound financial organization.

Range Captain Report (John Burrows)

John said that Frank Wagner will donate a free taxidermy if SCA can raise $300 dollars for next year's Mystery shoot. He will also donate $150 dollars back to the club.

Master Bowhunter Recorder (Earl Willenbrock )

Unable to attend.

Park Representative Report (Richard Kurtzeborn)

Richard will be calling the parks department and ask if we can obtain more space in the bale building. We are really expanding and could use the extra space.

Membership Secretary Report (Jeanine Smith)

Jeanine said our membership numbers are about par. We had a few previous members who have not renewed their membership due to the current economic situation.

New Business

Start thinking about Winter League. Sign-up will be coming up in a few months.

Tournament shooters cannot shoot alone & you cannot score your own score cards.

Joshua Chamberlain Society has not given us any correspondence about our donation. Wayne Sluhan will talk to their rep.

A motion was passed to authorize Richard Kurtzeborn to spend a little more than the $100 lunch budget for the parks department holiday lunch if necessary.

For upcoming Tournaments there will not be a Bow Hunter Class just a Men's Open Class.

We should invite the Fisher House to our Veteran's Shoot.

Jack was contacted by a Cub Scout Leader about doing an archery day for Cub Scouts.

Rick Bowen's Grandmothers home burned down. Donations will be taken at the last few fun shoots

Marshall Sidwell and Becky Douglass (Sidwell) are offering to help organize and plan the silent auction, 50/50 raffle and gather donations to spearhead this along to increase turnout & prizes for 2012. For information please contact Becky Douglass at: (beckydouglass3@gmail.com) There was a small group of volunteers at our meeting who would like to help plan the upcoming Veteran's Shoot on April 14, 2012.

We need to take inventory of our 3D Targets and see which ones need to be replaced.

New Rule for SCA club hunting and fishing outings. One paid member may bring one non-member to help increase our attendance and help promote new membership in our organization..
