Officer Reports

President’s Report (Wayne Sluhan)

Wayne opened the meeting announcing the passing of Larry Carroll. Truly a great SCA member & friend and Larry will be greatly missed by our club.

We have our next kid’s fun shoot on Saturday July 8, 2017 and setup will begin at 8:00am. In addition, our annual Deer Classic 30 target 3-D Archery tournament is Saturday August 19, 2017 and the John Woods memorial tournament (For Members Only) will be Sunday August 27, 2017 at the Quail Club located in Belleville, IL. Vice-President’s Report (Mike Gapsch)

Mike talked about getting lane Sponsorships. It’s now time to renew the existing ones and seek new sponsors. Please go out and talk to business owners you know about supporting our club by being a sponsor.

Secretary Report (Jon Adams)

There were no meeting notes since we had a guest speaker at our June meeting.

Treasurer’s Report (Henry Drane)

Henry went thru our financial spreadsheet and SCA is great shape moving forward.

Range Captain’s Report (Tom Munroe)

Tom said we need to install the extra bow hangers, trim trees & lanes and put up the additional handrails.

Master Bowhunter Recorder (Ken Winkelman)

Ken had nothing to report regarding recent harvests.

Park Representative Report (Tom Rizzo)

Talked about the volunteer hours on the range and he updated the Parks dept. on our total man hours.

Membership Secretary Report (Jon Adams-Interim)

We’ve had several new applicants’ sign up and participate in our monthly meetings & fun shoot events. (Remember two club events must be attended with at least one of those being a monthly meeting for the board to vote on new memberships) Many have completed this already and many more just need to attend the meeting. Tournament Secretary Report (Todd Mikel)

Unable to attend.

New Business/Old Business

Motion was made by Mike Gapsch that the club will pay for half the entry fee for any member in good standing who wants to shoot the John Wood’s Memorial shoot. That motion carried and passed by the majority present.

July 26th is our next member appreciation BBQ. A side dish is always appreciated.

August starts nominations for SCA Officer’s.

We still need to have another work day or two to finish installing handrails on some of the shooting lanes and the additional bow hangers, tank inventory on the bale building and rebuild bale building doors.

Motion was made by Jon Adams to spend up to $500 dollars in supplies to rebuild the bale building doors, etc.. That motion carried and was approved by the majority present.

TIME TO BEGIN SIGNING UP! Club hunt scheduled for October 5,6,7,8 of 2017. Once we get the number of attendees we can calculate the average cost per person. The hunt is always extremely reasonable in cost. You can’t get that kind of facility at the cost we do. More details to follow.
