Officer Reports

President’s Report (Mike Gapsch)
Had a meeting with St. Louis County Parks and they will be allowing crossbows on targets 1-9 on a 12 month trial basis. If anyone still has raffle tickets outstanding, please get them turned in ASAP. We will be starting a new program this year, Share the harvest for members. If you would like to be put on the list to receive venison or other harvest please contact Mike Gapsch for further details. The Deer Classic had a great turnout again this year! Thank you to all members who came out to help and volunteer your valuable time. We had a good turnout for our August shooter appreciation night. Thank You Matt Schwartz for stepping up and doing a great job cooking for everyone. Reminder; That October 02, 2019 is our last Wednesday Night Fun Shoot for 2109, and it is also our annual Keightley Fish & Turkey Fry. You don’t want to miss this night as we will also be drawing our 2019 raffle winners. Donations are being accepted for the Fish fry contact Mike Gapsch if you have some extra fish or other items that you would like to donate to the annual Keightley Fish & Turkey Fry. Range is looking good since Jim Keener did all that work weed whacking. Thank You Jim! Welcome; Dexter Keuss to your first SCA meeting. If anyone is in possession of any of SCA BBQ utensils please get them returned ASAP. Don’t forget the Club Huntand Fish Camp is coming soon October 10 –13, 2019 contact Henry Drane@ 314 600-2651 or Ken Winkleman @ 314 602 –3837 for more information or to sign up.. This is great deal and a lot of fun for all!

Secretary Report (Joe Maddock)
Share your pics & stories in the woods on our club Facebook site: South County Archers St. Louis. If you are not already on there go to the site and send me a request to join. Also, please invite other to like and join our site as well. Secondly, you can also email your harvest photos to pics@southcountyarchers.com so we can upload to a gallery site that we are putting together. Be on the lookout for updates to our website and social media pages. Lastly, if you know someone who you feel would be a good fit for our club please invite them to attend our functions and help sponsor them to become active members. Also, if anyone would like to purchase SCA apparel we have camo and hunter orange hats, polo shirts & T-shirts available for purchase. See Jon for details & to check available sizes.

Treasurer’s Report (Henry Drane)
The club remains financially sound $300.00 transferred from raffle money to club hunt and fish camp.

Master Bowhunter Recorder (Ken Winkelman)
Make sure you contact Ken of your harvest so it will count towards your awards. Check the rules and requirements to follow. All information is on the Web site under the about us heading. If you are working an event, make sure an officer is aware –you need 8 hours to qualify for awards and to be considered a member in good standing.

Park Representative Report (Tom Rizzo)
Tom will be forwarding a letter to be sent out to the membership in regards to the Conservation Commission.

Wayne Sluhan brought up the need to discuss and finalizes plans for grant application –gravel was identified as a high need. Any suggestions contact anyone of your SCA officers. Please be careful with the targets when loading and unloading.

If you are interested in being and officer of SCA or would like to nominate a member in good standing you can still do so at the October general meeting before the votes are taken. Starting in 2020 we will be collecting the mulligan target funds at the same time as we collect the tournament fees. There will be a mulligan sign made to help explain how it all works.
